Generative AI Policy

 

1. Purpose and Scope

The Contemporary Dialogue is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and accountability in scholarly publishing. In light of recent developments in generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, this policy establishes clear and binding guidelines regarding the use of AI tools in the preparation and submission of manuscripts for publication consideration.

This policy applies to all authors and co-authors submitting manuscripts to शिक्षा संवाद .

2. Prohibition on AI-Generated Content

Manuscripts containing content wholly or partially generated by generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, DALL·E, Midjourney, or similar) shall not be accepted for review or publication in the शिक्षा संवाद . The following forms of AI-generated content are expressly prohibited:

• Text, abstracts, or summaries produced or paraphrased by generative AI
• AI-generated figures, tables, images, or data visualizations
• References or citations generated by AI tools
• Any research output (including code, statistical models, or interpretations) that lacks direct human authorship and accountability

Submissions found to include such content, whether disclosed or undisclosed, shall be rejected or retracted at any stage of the editorial process.

3. Permissible Use of Assistive Tools

The use of AI-based assistive tools (e.g., grammar and spell-check software, reference managers, language translation tools) is permitted for the sole purpose of language improvement or manuscript formatting, provided:

• The tools do not generate substantive content;
• The final manuscript reflects original intellectual work of the authors;
• The output has been carefully reviewed and verified by the authors.

These tools may be used without disclosure, as long as they do not compromise the originality or authenticity of the scholarly work.

4. Authorship and Responsibility

AI systems and tools shall not, under any circumstances, be credited as authors or co-authors. Authorship implies the fulfillment of all criteria defined by international publication ethics, including:

• Substantial contribution to the conception, design, analysis, or interpretation of the work;
• Drafting or revising the manuscript critically for intellectual content;
• Final approval of the version to be published;
• Full accountability for all aspects of the work.

All listed authors must be natural persons who assume legal and ethical responsibility for the content submitted to Contemporary Dialogue.

5. Accountability and Enforcement

5.1 Author Responsibility

• No AI-generated content is included in the manuscript;
• All contributions are original, verifiable, and properly attributed;
• The submission adheres to this policy in full.

5.2 Violations and Sanctions

• Immediate Rejection or Withdrawal of the manuscript if AI-generated content is identified;
• Suspension of Submission Privileges for a minimum period of twelve (12) months for the corresponding author and co-authors;
• Permanent Blacklisting in the case of repeated or egregious violations;
• Notification to affiliated institutions or research funders in cases of academic misconduct.

Contemporary Dialogue reserves the right to take legal or administrative action as appropriate to protect the integrity of its publication process.

6. Policy Review and Amendments

This policy shall be reviewed periodically by the editorial board of Contemporary Dialogue and may be revised to reflect evolving technological developments, ethical standards, and regulatory considerations. Updates shall be published on the official journal website.
